Guest of Honor Biography - Christopher Cox 

Christopher Cox is the Chief of Staff for Congresswoman Yvette D. Clarke of New York’s 9th Congressional District. He previously served as senior policy advisor overseeing her work on the House Committee on Energy and Commerce with his portfolio including health care, smart cities, and telecommunications. He also developed and coordinated the Energy and Commerce Racial Equity Working Group under the leadership of Congresswoman Yvette Clarke and Congresswoman Robin Kelly which worked to understand and address the impact of racial inequities across E&C’s jurisdiction after the coronavirus pandemic through collaborative efforts to offer a slate of targeted, data-driven legislative strategies to improve outcomes in these impacted populations.

As a Mississippi native, Christopher currently serves as a board member for Mississippi Votes, an organization of intergenerational synergy centering and led by young people invested in the progression of Mississippi. He is also a former board member of the Congressional Tech Staff Association and the Congressional Black Associates on Capitol Hill.

A member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. (Alexandria-Fairfax Chapter), Christopher is focused on servant-leadership in various organizations by mentoring youth and people of color to achieve their career aspirations in politics and policy.

Christopher holds a B.A. in Political Science and a M.A. Public Health Policy and Management from Jackson State University.
