Off the Record: Life as a USAID Officer

Thursday, March 24, 2022

 7:00pm - 8:30pm EDT

Join us on March 24, 2022, in our new series: "Off the Record" with La'Nita M. Johnson, Education Officer at the United States Agency for International Development.

Please note that this is a MEMBERS-ONLY event.

La’Nita Johnson is a multilingual educator and training design expert, who joined USAID’s Foreign Service in 2019. A native of Powder Springs, GA, La’Nita attended Pepperdine University, where she earned two Bachelors of Arts degrees in Hispanic Studies and International Studies, with a specialization in Intercultural Communications. At the beginning of her career, La'Nita joined the private sector in GE Capital's Commercial Leadership Program and as a District Sales Manager at Frito-Lay. After narrowly surviving a terrorist attack on a mission trip to Burkina Faso in 2016, La’Nita decided to propel her love for public service by pursuing a Master’s in International Training and Education Program at American University. Currently, La’Nita serves as an Education Officer in Guatemala City working on youth workforce development, basic education, organizational development and serves as lead champion for locally-led development initiatives. In her free time, La’Nita enjoys hiking, traveling, playing the cello and walking her dog—Chino.
